Insurance Information

We accept most private insurance and many EAP’s through work. Accepting insurance does NOT mean that your information is shared with insurance companies. The only information we share are dates of attendance and a required diagnosis number. No notes or information about your therapy sessions is ever shared with anyone. Your sessions are 100% confidential and HIPAA compliant, even if you use insurance. The reason many counselors don’t take insurance is because of the lower pay rate and extra work that it involves, but you paid for the insurance, and you have a right to use it. We take insurance because we want to provide you the very best counseling, and we want it to be affordable because no one should have to worry about being able to pay for their healthcare. We also offer a self-pay rate comparable to student counselors, even though our counselors have 10-20 years’ experience. Why do we do it? Because we care.

  • Why should I see a counselor?

Seeing a counselor is something that you do to improve your own health and happiness. You will learn new coping skills and approaches to manage your emotions more effectively. Seeing a counselor is like talking to a friend, but is different in some important ways.

A counselor is a safe person to talk to. Unlike a friend, you won’t have to worry about your counselor judging you. You won’t have to worry about your counselor telling others your private thoughts or secrets. Your counselor will never judge you even if you have done something that others would condemn you for.

He/she will help you look into yourself and learn to make the best decisions that you can make for yourself. Seeing a mental health counselor is like seeing a doctor – it’s something that everyone benefits from doing at certain times. Seeing a counselor is empowering. That is why many wealthy and famous people see a counselor regularly.
