About

Kristin has over seventeen years of experience working in the behavioral health field. She sees children who have special needs ranging from developmental disabilities or autism spectrum to gifted. She helps children learn to cope with challenging situations such as divorce or blended families.

Kristin believes in meeting individuals where they are and assisting them in gaining the motivation, insight, knowledge, and functional coping mechanisms to achieve their goals. She provides a supportive and safe environment conducive for healthy self-exploration. Her objective is to help empower individuals to find the confidence that is lacking or might have been lost to make the changes or adjustments. She applies multiple theoretical orientations in her practice, including cognitive behavioral techniques, client-centered approach, solution-focused therapy and reality therapy. She has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for managing intense emotions.

Kristin was born and raised in the Chicago area. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband. She began skating at age three and competed in figure skating throughout her college years. Through discipline in skating, Kristin recognized the importance of needing to have a healthy and stable mindset in order to “perform/function” at one’s best, whatever that particular type of “performance” might be. This understanding led Kristin to pursue her degree in the counseling field so she could help others in their journey to achieve their goals.
