Individual Psychotherapy

We offer individual therapy for children, teens, and young adults. Seeing a counselor is something that you do to improve your own health and happiness. Take The First Step

We have been in the counseling business since 2006, but only went on-line due to Covid-19 in 2020. Our mission is to provide safe, cheerful, high quality and affordable counseling. We offer old-fashioned personal service in a safe and comfortable setting (your home!).

We see couples, families, single adults, adolescents and children. All Florida counselors work with people who are grieving and may have lost friends or relatives due to COVID-19, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, chronic pain and substance abuse. We work with people who have serious diseases such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, liver, heart, kidney, neurological, genetic and chronic illness. We have counselors who specialize in working with LBGTQ populations helping with relationship problems, acceptance by self and others, and even people thinking of or going through gender reassignment treatment.

Our counselors accept insurance under All Florida and an affordable fee for self-pay clients. All Florida offers late night appointments, also open Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays. Specific counselors offer services in Spanish and American Sign Language. LGBTQ friendly.

  • Why should I see a counselor?

Seeing a counselor is something that you do to improve your own health and happiness. You will learn new coping skills and approaches to manage your emotions more effectively. Seeing a counselor is like talking to a friend, but is different in some important ways.

A counselor is a safe person to talk to. Unlike a friend, you won’t have to worry about your counselor judging you. You won’t have to worry about your counselor telling others your private thoughts or secrets. Your counselor will never judge you even if you have done something that others would condemn you for.

He/she will help you look into yourself and learn to make the best decisions that you can make for yourself. Seeing a mental health counselor is like seeing a doctor – it’s something that everyone benefits from doing at certain times. Seeing a counselor is empowering. That is why many wealthy and famous people see a counselor regularly.

  • Can I schedule follow up sessions?

A scheduled follow-up can assist you in staying on track. During your sessions, you'll learn new ways to communicate, how to show intimacy, and all the other skills and methods needed to revitalize your relationship. Before the retreat is over, you will have the opportunity to practice these skills in a safe environment. But what happens when you leave and come back?

    - How do you avoid reverting to old habits and behaviors?

    - How do you handle new problems in your relationship?

    - How do you keep the trust and communication skills you've learned?

Dr. Brawner will schedule a series of follow-up phone, Skype, or FaceTime sessions with you and your partner. Some of these will be shared by both of you, while others will be shared by only one of you. Individual sessions will be available as well. After completing the included sessions, you will be able to continue these sessions with Doctor Brawner as needed.
